The company holds strong positions within ingredients and fine chemicals. Borregaard has four divisions including: Borregaard ChemCell, responsible for specialty cellulose and bioethanol; Borregaard LignoTech for lignin-based products and trading activities; Borregaard Synthesis for fine chemicals/pharmaceuticals; and Borregaard Ingredients for vanillin for foodstuffs. Borregaard is the producer of wood-based chemicals such as specialty cellulose, lignin, vanillin and bioethanol.
